Affordability

Watch this video to learn more about indexed tuition.
Canterbury’s mission has always been to offer a quality education in a community reflecting a diverse group of ethnicities, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds. There are families who can afford the full tuition rate, families who could not be at Canterbury without substantial financial aid, and families of every circumstance in between.
The Armfield Scholarship program is a merit scholarship for high-achieving students of color who meet specific need-based criteria.

Indexed Tuition
-
While every family is expected to contribute to the cost of a Canterbury education as their family circumstances allow, Canterbury’s indexed tuition program determines the cost for each student based on the family’s economic situation. In 2020-21, 34 percent of Canterbury students qualified for indexed tuition.

FAST, an objective third party, helps us assess what a family is able to contribute to education expenses. There is a processing fee of $45 that must be included with your application and forms.
A student’s tuition amount is based on their ability to contribute, along with school policies and the funds available to returning students and applicant families. We will notify families of their tuition level on the same schedule as admission decision letters. Though decisions about admission and indexed tuition are made at the same time, the two processes are separate. All financial information you provide remains confidential.
