Welcome to Canterbury
Thank you for visiting Canterbury's website. In looking through the pages here, you will find facts and figures on everything from schedules to curriculum to sports, but the best way to understand a school is to visit. You will truly get a feel for how a school community cares for its students by spending time on campus. I hope you’ll call and schedule a tour so you can see what a special place Canterbury is.
Canterbury School was founded in 1993 as a co-educational Episcopal day school and serves students from PreK through 8th grade. Our PreK-8 structure concentrates resources on the education of young children; our small size means every child is individually known and loved; we educate the whole child: mind, body and spirit; and as an Episcopal School, we have a tradition of strong academics in an environment that values diversity.
Canterbury does not discriminate unlawfully on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or disability in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, financial assistance programs, athletic and other school-administered policies.
Meet the Office
As a parent, I understand that choosing the right school for your child is a very important, yet often daunting, experience. I've been through the process as the mother of Isabel (Canterbury ’22) and Kevin (Canterbury ’25). Our Admission office will work with your family individually through each step of the process to help you find the right fit for your child.
It’s important to visit our beautiful campus and experience the spirit of Canterbury. You’re always welcome to observe our classrooms in action, attend a chapel service, check out the ropes course in our Outdoor Education Center, or watch a basketball game in Haley Athletic Center. Please feel free to call the Admission office at any time to schedule a visit. We appreciate your interest and look forward to meeting you!
